Rooted in Love, Driven by Karma — Serving Humanity, Culture, and Justice.
Darjeeling Matoko Maya Sewa Sanstha is an NGO that believes in action and humanity. Darjeeling, known as the Queen of the Hills, is a treasure trove of natural beauty — with the majestic Kanchenjunga, lush green hills, world-famous tea, and iconic toy train — attracting tourists from around the world. However, beneath its stunning landscapes, the region faces numerous challenges.
To address these issues — to protect humanity, preserve the Gorkha language, culture, and heritage, save the lives of the suffering, sick, and afflicted, rescue those stranded in foreign lands, retrieve the bodies of the deceased, rebuild homes, and provide relief to flood victims — Darjeeling Matoko Maya Sewa Sanstha was founded.
Since 2018, our foundation has been working tirelessly across multiple sectors. In 2023, we proudly received official recognition from the Government of India. With branches in India and abroad, we remain committed to promoting humanity and Gorkha identity. Our efforts span across education, healthcare, literature, rescue missions, human services, human rights, animal welfare, environmental conservation, and more.
The vision "Karma is our religion" suggests a focus on selfless action, compassion, and kindness. It implies that the organization's guiding principle is to prioritize actions that benefit others and promote the greater good.
It is our duty to save humanity. To serve our nation and land, to preserve our language, culture and civilization, to spread the message of love and peace in the world.
Hear from the lives we’ve touched through rescue,
